The Missing History of Our National Parks

Every pin on this map is a piece of American history the current administration has flagged for removal. These are real exhibits, signs, and publications from our national parks. They are historically accurate and now targeted for censorship. Click any marker to learn more about the history and why it matters.

📖 About 📰 News

Our Parks Need Your Voice

The Department of the Interior is removing and revising historical materials across the National Park System under Secretary's Order 3431. Congress has the power to stop this — but they need to hear from you.
443 park history entries with documented artifacts have been flagged, revised, or removed.
The fight is now in the courts. In June 2026, a federal judge ordered the Interior Department to restore the removed materials and halt Secretary’s Order 3431 — but the First Circuit Court of Appeals stayed that order in July while the government’s appeal proceeds, so the case remains undecided. Lawmakers are still pressing to block funding for SO 3431. Congress can act — add your voice to the pressure.

📰 This Week in the Fight for Park History

Sep 27 – Oct 1, 2026 · 5 new developments
📜 130+ Partner Projects Blocked 👁️ Archaeology Surveys Halted ✊ MLB Drops Grand Teton

Where the Fight Stands

Interior has disapproved more than 130 partner-run park projects worth at least $25 million as misaligned with administration priorities, internal Park Service records show. Much of the blocked work is history itself: cultural-resource work at Death Valley, museum digitization at Zion and, in Utah, archaeological surveys of sites newly exposed around Lake Powell. Cutting the partners who document the past is another way to narrow what parks can tell. One reversal: after weeks of local opposition, Major League Baseball dropped Grand Teton from consideration as a ballpark site.
