A federal judge was "furious" after 430 trees were cut at East Potomac Park’s golf course. NPS deputy director Frank Lands testified that Interior political appointee Greg Wischer told him on Oct. 5 to implement 2019 recommendations. Still, Trump will close and renovate the course, NPR reported Oct. 18. The same priorities show up in the budget: the Center for Western Priorities mapped 1,492 park projects downgraded to “low priority,” while Interior’s Aug. 7 disapprovals keep $25.9 million in already-secured partner work blocked.
